We visited the market on a couple of times while in Almeria. We were amazed by the different types of food and drinks available. Everything thing looked lovely and fresh. If we go to Almeria again we will go self catering and go to the market for stuff to eat.

If you are visiting Almeria City it’s a must to pop your into this foodies market where fresh produce and an array of delicacies await you, This market is indoors keeping you away from the heady hot days. You will find fresh meats, seafood, fish, fruit, vegetables, flowers, plants, cold meats and cheeses. You can even purchase produce and have this cooked for you by local cafes. Worth a visit if you see yourself as being a bit of a master chef contender.

According to your site it was supposed to be open and made the trip to find it closed. Not first time info on web incorrect

Too bad we are staying in a hotel room or we would be purchasing fresh produce and meat!! The market is so clean and inviting. We did find some olives and local wine. Definitely worth the visit.

An array of fresh produce. Excellent fruit, meat, cheese, fish stalls. Each one beautifully presented.
I love Spanish food markets. The variety of items on offer is large and very good prices.
Treated my husband to some Mojama (dried cured tuna) after trying some in a local tapas bar (Quinto Toro) which is located just outside.
Theres a couple of places to get drink and food inside and plenty of places just outside.
We visited mid morning. It wasn't overly busy.. just a nice flow of people about.
Stall holders seem to be ok with people taking photos too.
Its not a huge place but big enough and worth a wander.

Very easy to get to as in the centre of the city. Fish and meat on one floor and fruit and vegetables on the other. Ideal also for a clean free toilet facility. Very interesting a nice building but nothing out of the ordinary for a typical Spanish market.

Every Spanish city has one o several Public Market Halls where on one or two levels all types of food in a good and fresh quality are available. The Central Market of Almeria is really pretty (furbished up in 2012) and invites to look around at all the different stands. Outside you have a nice cafeteria for enjoying a coffee and some Churros, and really a good place to make a break during the sightseeing....

This was a beautiful market - and gives a very good glimpse into the food culture here in Almeria and Andalucia. This market would be more inviting to hang out in if there were more diversity in the restaurants nearby however, it was a positive experience being there.

A really fun way to look at fruit, veg, meat and fish....on several floors. Wonderfully displayed
Lots of unusual produce many of which I had not seen before!

Only thing is, do take bags and perhaps be prepared for a couple of journeys back to your car.....as there is practically no parking nearby.
Also, the market shuts at lunch time

Store holders friendly and all in all an alternative visit to include with all the other wonderful sights in Almeria city.
