Here in beautiful weather in March 2017. Brilliant curvey roads and views across the area. Disappointed by walking paths but cyclists love the area

Kindly ignore the ignorant and foolish comments about the greenhouses, from which vegetables are grown which feed people all over Europe and as far away as Russia. Mike B is a fool, pardon my, he might do some local research as well as eat the...More

We bicycled from Almería to San Jose through the park. The first part is paved, the send part is on a good quality gravel track. The hills were steep, the views incredible, and the wildflowers plentiful. Our children loved the sand dunes and beaches.

After driving past miles and miles of disgusting plastic greenhouses.. i can only imagine the chemical broth out fruit is grown in... we found the cabo de Gata.. beautiful beaches, peaceful (in March) towns and villages, empty restaurants and views to die for.. its amazing...More

Beautiful place, quiet at this time of the year- Feb 17. Beautiful walks. Friendly people. Long bus ride from Almeria but regular and cheap.

The town of Nijar is situated to the north west of the Cabo de Gata Nijar Natural Park, and to the east of Almeria, and is easy to find. We had read that this is the area to buy artisan pottery and also locally woven...More

This is a special and precious area of Spain that is a real demand. From the gold mines at Rodaquilar to hunting for garnets near Nicaragua, there is plenty to do and see. The savings are a superb site for flamingoes and the rare Trumpeter...More

This Park is so beautiful! Great for a hike, although it was rather difficult to find out where the hike started.

I visited the unique open air art village of Rodalquilar out of season. Nothing to do but stroll and admire the art work on the walls of the buildings and homes. This is an abandoned gold mining village. They have adorned the abandoned workers' houses...More

We cycled into the park and toured around as best we could. Varied roads used by walkers, cyclists and cars. Lots of wild flowers, birds, and super deserted (at the time) beaches

Hi, Carole. Great idea to explore a bit further than the city!! Whilst a tour is the 'safe' option, I personally would pre-arrange the hire of a car at the port of Almeria and travel from Almeria City to Cabo de Gata Nijar... More

You can find the best hiking trail on the web, on wikilok. You can select hiking/biking/ or whatever you want to do. On the web page of the park you can also find the trail. I agree that you can start from San Jose, it is... More
