We visited the cave last month. The experience was wonderful and unique. But - the path through the cave is treacherous - wear hiking boots and bring your own head lamp. The lamp they gave us was pathetic. The parking lot is at the bottom of a hill, the path up to the entrance was not easy. All that being... More

The oldest caves in Europe with cave drawings dating back as far as thirty two thousand years ago. Almost every other cave of this kind in Europe doesn't allow visitors into the actual caves only the replicas. The tours are run by the third and fourth generation of the original discoverer of the caves back in about 1905. Extremely knowledgeable.... More

This cave art tour was fantastic. Unfortunately, photographs are not allowed, but that's not unexpected. The tour guide spoke in Spanish and reasonable English afterwards. The tour is not for those who are not sure-footed. The lighting is by lantern and many slopes and steps are damp and slippery. Prepare to slip once or twice. The art is amazing. Many... More

Unless you are using your own transport this involves a walk of about 5 or 6 km from the station of Benoajan-Montejaque, one stop from Ronda on the line to Algeciras. However the walk itself is pleasingly scenic and, even if you don't like walking, you will probably agree that the cave is worth the walk. Of course there is... More
