Wanted to visit this take the tour with my family, the guy at the entrance, (who seems to be the guide in the tour) started saying offensive and racist comment again my country. I have many German friends and lived in Germany for two years and I know not all the people are like him. But I don’t understand how someone who works in a public and touristic position can have that mindset. I hope he change his behavior or gets removed from that position… I didn’t have the opportunity to get his name but he is a guy without hair and uses glasses.

Well you will like this place i Christmas time. sometimes it`s overcrowded . but all behave in a quite polite way. so you could
drink your Glühwein and have a nice time even if you don´t
talk and understand German .

One of the most beautiful buildings in town, nicely restored after war damage. Since it is the city hall, it is located in the absolute center of the old town. Bit plaza in front where there is a little market. You can take a tour of the Rathaus.

The architecture around the square of the City Hall is really worth a look with a mixture of curious styles ((neo-) Gothic and Renaissance, etc.) and one of the most impressive examples I have seen. Do not forget to see the large church behind the square.

The worst experience that I had in my life. The guide was disrespectful l to my family and me. He asked where we come from and we come from Colombia so he started making really bad jokes about cocaine, making signs and noises of how the people consume this types of drugs, and also jokes about why we speak Spanish (referring to colonialism). We were very offended so we spoke with his colleague and he denied everything, he changed completely how things happened and was very loud to interrupt us every time we wanted to say something. It ruined completely our trip. My sister was crying after that. Nobody expect to be treated that way. We wanted to learn about the place and we received racism and xenophobic treatments.

This is Lubeck. Just take in the beauty of the square. Sit in one of the coffee shops and watch the people. If you come at Christmas it will be fill with the Christmas market.

Since we speak and live in Germany, we had "no trouble" with the pleasant tour of the Rathaus. I thought the former Hausverwalter did a pretty good Job! Bravo!
What we don´t understand is, that foreign tourist go empty if they don´t understand german. Offering some Audio Equipment would do! A shame, Lubeck and the Rathaus have an amazing history in northern Germany.

Makes me think of Ludwig II or Bavaria (The Fairy Tale King) ... was he inspired by this architecture or were the architects inspired by him. It’s a higgledy-piggledy affair for sure, with a tower there, tower here and tower everywhere.... with stairs that seem to lead to nowhere... and don't forget the decorative balcony. Add the city has grown around these attached buildings making for this awkward juxtaposition of elements and fenestration that can make your skin crawl.
