I love the quiet atmosphere of this church. But from the information we were provided the roof was not reconstructed the same way on the inside after the war which diminishes the overall appeal. But still a pleasant experience with a fantastic place in the city.

Former monastery from 1200s has a prominent on a square in Old Town. Its steeple Is visible from a long distance to guide you to downtown area. And Kiel's downtown is a pleasant surprise of cobbled streets, cafés, new and old together.

This church with the statue of St. Nikolai and green trees around it seemsn to be something magical. Situated in the city center close to the shopping streets is a great place to visit.

Open house, just walk in to see an absolutely stunningly rebuilt/preserved bit of history. Well worth the time!

We visited St. Nikolai. It was a nice church with a simple architecture. It has some nice stained windows that were very modern. There was a large dark cross in the church that offset the white walls very nicely so it stood out.

Overall this is a nice church but without the innate adornments one finds in other grander churches. In a way, that is what makes this church quite nice and worth a visit.

Old church within walking distance of cruise terminal. Rest of the town not quite as picturesque as many German towns. Steeple is a good reference point for the town tour- two hours is plenty.

And suddenly we noticed we had spent hours in here. Many different styles and stories make for a rich history, but you have to be wiling to be sucked into it (it is not the Kölner Dom). Ernst Barlach made the famous statue on the outside (the spirit fighter). So much of Kiel has been destroyed in the war, that anything old is worth discovering. The contrast between old and new makes the story so much richer.

This church is downtown, centrally located. It is a beautiful and historic church that dates to about 1240. It is dedicated to St Andreas and St Nikolas, patron Saints of fishermen and seafarers. The church is open to the public during the day and inside you will find cool spiritual respite from the outside world. This church is only 10 minutes from the port and is a must see attraction in Kiel
