Another interesting place I just arrived to!
And another something to tea and enjoy the evening sun and just relaxing after a day’s work!💪

We had a walk along this quite long pedestrianised street whilst in Kiel. It has a good mix of large and small retail and eating outlets. The lack of motor traffic certainly improves the environment for shoppers and pedestrians in general. The Holstentorn/Sophienhof shopping mall at one end makes a good contrast with the traditional open air shopping street. The street is pleasant enough but in our opinion there are similar or more individual pedestrianised areas in many other towns and cities.

This is a very nice arty street with lots of interesting shops with plenty of coffee shops to sit and watch the world go by.

This is an excellent small town shopping area. It has everything and on our Baltic cruise had by far the best prices. From the cruiseport they have painted a blue line on the ground and if you follow it you will be here in 10 minutes. The street is a pedestrian mall. Mostly they have local stores and boutiques, a smaller local market and many cafe's and restaurants. Local stores are stocked with a good selection of clothes and accessories, and gloves and shoes. The market has fresh produce, baked goods and treats. There are several jewelry stores including Happe where we bought a nice watch and some Engelsrufer silver. In English it means Angel whisper and the necklace make a subtle musical sound as you wear it. This is one of the best stops on any Baltic cruise and is an absolute must see town.

We visited this street last Dec.2016. Although, the Christmas market was finished when we were there, but there were few stalls left where they sell gløgg with or without alcohol, hotdog, fruits coated with chocolate and some sweets. The street was ok for shopaholic like me.

If I hadn't specifically looked for it, I would never have thought that this could be part of the shopping mile. The shops are too unattractive for that. Regardless, to get to the historic market you have to go through here, literally.
