Well Worth a Visit
Apr 2021
This is well worth a visit if you're in the area, even just to get an idea of the cramped spaces these sailors lived and worked in.

Experience the inside of a German submarine
Aug 2020
One gets an impression of what life was like in a submarine of World War II. A very nice compliment to the Navy Memorial.

Very nice
Jun 2020
Visited the submarine and naval memorial. Both was very nice attractions that gives a you a look inside the life of a navy officer. I will highly recommend buying a combined ticket for both the submarine and the monument. The memorial gives tribute to the many who have fallen.

Only minus was the long queue waiting outside the submarine in order to get in but other than that it was great. Wouldn’t recommend it though to families with small kids.

With your dog to the submarine
Jun 2020
I mentioned a beautiful beach for dogs, and it starts right here at the submarine. But please know that dogs are not permitted inside this boat from WW2. Outside the boat your dog wil quicckly make friends with the other dogs visiting that beach.

Visit to marine museum and uboat
Jun 2019 • Couples
Very interesting to see how cramped and hot the subs would have been to work in.The average age of the servicemen was 21.The Marine Museum was very impressive. The walls covered with a display of the names of every vessel lost in marine battles.

The boat
Oct 2019 • Family
The last of the type VII U-boats. This U-boat is in very good condition and well worth the time to visit, along with the memorial. I would definitely visit again.

Educational and quick
Oct 2019 • Family
The U Boat was cool. Interesting to see how narrow and utilitarian the interior was. Climbing the view tower in the memorial across the street was a highlight. Fantastic view of the area. The model ship exhibit had placards in English but most of the other displays did not so we relied on Google translate at times. It’s not expensive and can be done in an hour. Worth the time and money.

Visit to Mariner memorial in Laboe
Sep 2019
Moving experience visiting the mariner's memorial in Laboe. U995 an experience, how anyone survived in these submarines in WW2 - they are so samml and cramped unlike the large American fleet submarines that served in the Pacific. This is worth visiting with some great models of German shios, but more of all moving experience. No more wars!!!!

Little technical museum
Aug 2019
After paying entrance fee you can theoretically stay as long as you want and take your time to explore. Technically it is a bit complicated because there is not too much space inside and number of visitors is high. So sometimes we were pushed by crowd. Yet I found the visit very interesting and it could be even more interesting if there were more details shared about how every equipment works.

Sub enthusiast must
Aug 2019 • Friends
As a sub enthusiast, as long as not locked in and under water, this is a great experience. End to end within the sub. Only issue as space is small and single file end to end it is a bit rushed if others behind are not as intetested in detail. Pushed along once you exit you cant go back in as you exit a 1 way turnstile.
