The cemetery that surrounds the Lion is also well worth a visit - particularly the bits that relate to the wars between 1850 & 1864, as this is part of the history of the Lion. Remarkable that it survived its travels to Berlin & Copenhagen, before finally returning to Flensburg.

The statue is nice and is placed in an old park/cemetery. It is for sure worth a visit if you combine it with a stroll in the park.
A lot of other reviews stresses that there is a nice view of the city from this place, but that is 100% wrong.
There is a lot of history connected to the statue, so Google that before going that will improve the experience.
All in all a nice place, but still just a statue of a lion.
