While too often overblown and too often down on people's lists as a remote museum in Eastern Germany, the Bauhaus museum can connect to many aspects of our modern and daily lives. The museum is fascinating to pilgrims of modernism, architects, and designers. I belong to that group, waiting to see it for more than 30 years, but have to... More

Anyone with an interest in architecture and design would find this extremely interesting and relate to its historical context, difficult to imagine impact for those without an interest. There is so much to take in here and its impact on the then future which we are fortunate to have experienced of course.

As an architect I had to go and see the Bauhaus when I had the chance. It is a stunning building and I really enjoyed walking there and checking it out from any angle. Unfortunately I was only able to go there later in the evening (as I was there on a business trip), so could not go in.

1hr45mins out of Berlin on the train ,this is a really easy day trip to do from Berlin. The audio tour is great and just wandering around this fabulously restored school of design is a dream. So much started here, the Bauhaus Foundation should be proud of what they have and have done.

Oh that was a happy day for me. I did the Bauhaus and Meisterhäuser Tour (the others were not available that day) and they were both excellent. I highly recommend taking a tour as you can see a lot more rooms. The restoration team has done such a good job the building stands there as modern as it could be.... More

Superb Bauhaus buildings at their most pure. We did a tour which is only offered in German so a lot of information was lost on us. At least we got to see several spaces closed to the general public though. The design bookshop is fantastic!

Ok, there is not a lot to do in Dessau. But the Bauhaus is always a good place to visit. The cafe is very nice, I would say the best in town!

We really enjoyed the visit to the bauhaus. We are all electrical engineer and didn't know a lot about the place or Gropius. It's a great building to admire and take note of. Changing the direction of modern architecture!!

A day trip from Berlin, for an architecture enthusiast this place could qualify as pilgrimage. Though not the thriving center of art and debate as it once was,the building is the fountainhead of all architecture that we see today. And its importance will especially sink when you see it with the surroundings and how avant garde it was for its time....
