Oct 2020 • Couples
Beautiful old church. Located right next to the Bach Museum. His grave is located inside the church.

Wonderful concert
Sep 2020
You would have difficulty imagining that it had to be rebuilt after the war.
Inside is fairly plain, but worth seeing.
However, if you are in Leipzig on a Friday or Saturday, then there is a free(well 2 Euros) concert by the Thomas Kirche choir - who are world famous. Check on the website for detail and times. BUT you will need to be in the queue at least 45 mins before the time or you may not get a seat - because of the virus, the seating is very restricted.
Do go!

Great place - a quiet church set in the middle of busy Leipzig and the workplace and grave of composer Johann Sebastian Bach.

It’s an old church
Jul 2020
Ok... it happens to have Bach’s remains there, and they hold regular concerts. And there is a certain mystique to it all, as well.

Honestly, the architectural style of older churches and such is, to me, always interesting. In this way, of course it didn’t disappoint. But for me, it was worth poking my head inside, taking a look, und genug.

A beautiful church which is certainly worth paying a visit to. A guy was playing Bach on the organ while we were there - lovely!

The church is lovely, has all the Bach connections and we were lucky to catch the singing from a visiting boys' choir on a Sunday service/concert (2 euros)

NOT TO BE MISSED
Mar 2020
This is a vast and glorious looking church situated in a large square where great photos can be achieved from four different sides. It has many steeples, differing styles of coloued stone along with separate looking buildings that all merge into one big church. Inside its length is one of the longest Ive seen and has a beautiful and huge altar with ornamental gold leaf and coloured glass windows that span the whole right hand side of its entire length. In front of the altar also lies the tomb of Bach which is facing the altar so upside down when taking your photos of it from the roped off area. Not to be missed.

Don't miss this place

Thomas Church is a must visit when in Leipzig. Seeing the architecture, art, and organ is inspiring. If you get the unique privilege of hearing the choir (wether boys or adult version) you are truly lucky/blessed. A choir that has been performing for 600 years is amazing. Don't forget the Bach museum across the street.
