The concept of the place is much broader that it used to be in old German style beer places. Here, you can find 20 taps with quite large selection of beer style, from traditional German pils and lager, to craft IPA and stouts. They offer also nee German graft beer and the world famous samples, like Goose Island. They have also small snack and traditional German warm menu, like Carry wurst and snitzel. The ambience is very non formal, with an eclectic mixture of old furniture from different styles and times, with a special emphasize of 80-90s.

They have a great selection of German and international craft brews, both on tap and bottled. Snacks are also available, staff offer good service and are friendly. They also have funny events. I was there during a pub quiz (in German) which was quite fun even though I did not participate. In summer time they seem to have nice terrace, too.

The place offers a beer listing that will satisfy everyone's preferences. From German to Belgian beers you will always find some new brews to try! This said quality and variety come with a price. If a usual 0.5l beer is around 2€ in Dresden, in Zapfanstalt the starting price is 3.5€

The bar features a tremendous choice of different beers all around the globe. The waiters are skillful and know their stuff. Several dozens of beers are on tap, rest comes in a bottle. Atmosphere is cozy, they also feature specials such as beer stock exchange evenings where the demand rules the price. The food we had was average only - the specials here are the beers and not the food.
