The castle was rebuild after WW2, but only the roofs and the walls, still a lot of the inside need to be rebuilded, work is going on, but it will take decades before it is finished.

The collection is absolutely beautiful and what is more amazing, is the number of objects that survived the war and the painstaking reconstruction of the interior of the ‘green vault’

We did not visit the inside of the palace, but the outside is lovely! It is very central and easy to visit. Would be interested in going inside next time I visit Dresden!

Wonderful exhibits that help you understand regional history. We spent about three hours in the Residenz and Green Vault together. We could have spent a few more hours. It is a little pricey, but worth it if you can spend the time.

This is worth the trip all by itself, especially if you read the details and understand the importance of this palace and its inhabitants. Totally reconstructed with an excellent eye to detail. The museum all by itself and an easy, educational visit
