An interesting walk through a section of the subterranean fortifications of Dresden, with audio guide in a variety of languages included as part of admission. It isn't too extensive and can be seen in less than an hour.

Entrance between Albertinum and Art Academy. 5 euro entrance fee which includes your audio guide (14 stations to listen to commentary). Well explained as to the whys and wherefores of its construction and enlargement over the centuries to its 'grounding' which has left only this...More

There was a lot of very interesting history on the story of the progression of the building of the fortress. There are audio guides. It was very interesting and took about 1-1 1/2 hours to go through the self guided tour. It was worth it.

The place says a bit more about history of Dresden. Very good opportunity to go one level deeper to the city's history

The Festung is so amazing to observe and the rebuiding is still ongoing. How many Battles been fought there is just beyond imagination. They have a very nice headset explination where you can walk and listen to what went on in every place. Hopefully they...More

The city defences and gates, now well below street level, are the oldest surviving part of Dresden, and one of the bastions has been excavated and opened to the public. It's an interesting tour, and the audioguide gives detailed explanations. One slight grumble - there...More

A part of the City defence system around the 17th century interestingly described with audio guides. The section is the gate/bridge defence on the river access to the City and the development & improvements of the defences are well explained.

I have been here soon after it opened to the public and since then two major floods came through and put the many volunteer hours back significantly but it is again a place to go back in history - the only place in fact where...More

You want to make sure to take the audio-guide that comes free with your 5 euros ticket. Without it, it would be a lot less interesting since there is a lot of history in this place but not a lot of objects and writing. Think...More

This museum is an excellent value for 5€ and was a very interesting look into the Dresden of old. Audioguides available in many languages. Great couple of hours.

I am unsure? I thought they had a website? Here it is, I couldn't find it in English. You can try using a language app to write and ask. Then when they answer. You can use the app to copy and paste the answer. I usually... More
