About
Once the private garden of the Count of Bruehl, this large open plaza offers the city's best view of the River Elbe. Under the terrace are trenches, battlements and other remnants of the city's original fortifications.

The Bruhl terrace, built on the basis of the ancient fortified walls of the city, is in practice an elevated walkway that extends along the Elbe river, in correspondence with the historic center of Dresden. Graced with a small garden and some monuments and lined with elegant buildings, it is a truly pleasant place offering beautiful panoramic views of the river and the city centre. The view that opens onto the Schlossplatz, going down the staircase, is particularly beautiful.

Bruhl’s Terrace is nicknamed the Balcony of Europe. The terrace stands above the River Elbe and was once part of the cities fortifications. Stairs were added from castle square and the area became a garden open to the public. Today, Bruhl’s Terrace is a promenade with views of the Elbe River and gorgeous Baroque architecture. A great spot to relax and people watch.

The views of the Elbe, and also of the city streets on the other side are fantastic. The statues and street vendors only add to a great experience. If you are traversing the city along the river front, this is definitely the way to go.

This is one of the best things and places to visit in the city center. When you go up through the stairs , lovely trees welcomes you. On your back there is cathedral and on your left there is the Augustus bridge and river. Fantastic views and lovely place to enjoy the ambiance.

My favourite part of Dresden. One could see the absolutely beautiful architecture. My friends and I rested underneath a cluster of trees overlooking the River Elbe. We even had the opportunity to see hot air balloons embark on their journeys from the other side of the river! There are simply so many stunning views here of elaborate, intricate buildings. An absolute must see if in Dresden.

Brühl's Terrace, is a terraced walking area in the historic old town. It looks like a long balcony along the River Elbe that’s raised about 10 metres above the ground because the terrace was originally part of the city’s fortification. The terrace is a provide fantastic views of the river, especially the State Chancellery of Saxony and high enough to provide good views of the Katholische Hofkirche.
There are some very fine buildings along the terrace too such as the Academy of Fine Arts.
A fantastic place for photo ops.

Called the Balcony of Europe, the Bruehl Terrace is about a mile long walk built on the former fortification wall. There are pompous buildings i.e. the building of Kunstakademie on the Bruehl Terrace. From the Terrace there is a nice view on the river Elbe and the Augustus Bridge.
On one side, the Bruehl Terrace leads with a monumental staircase to the Castle Square (Schlossplatz), whereas on the other side there is a small park Bruehl Garden and the building of Albertinum.

Dresden is indeed a lovely place to visity. You can walk the center of the town from one tourist atraction to another, most of which are for free.
You can take a bus ride for the suburbs, and a boat tour along the Elbe. Then you have seen a lot of Dresden.
