Once the private garden of the Count of Bruehl, this large open plaza offers the city's best view of the River Elbe. Under the terrace are trenches, battlements and other remnants of the city's original fortifications.

The Bruehl Terrace offers a great view in Dresden and is more or less in the middle of the city (close to a lot of other important tourist places).

It’s 500 m long along a riverside garden, also known as the balcony of Europe: it’s an enormous platform along the Elbe River. Originally it was built as a fort to protect the city from invaders and in the 19th century it became a pedestrian...More

The Bruehl Terrace offers you the best view you can have in Dresden; for the best experience, pass through the Zwinger palace gate, follow through the gardens (all for free) and climb the stairs onto the terrace. You can then walk down and descend to...More

Stunning view on the river and a lot of the old buildings of Dresden. Wonderful to just walk up and down the shores of the Elbe.

Dresden is great city to take your time and stroll. When you come upon the terrace you will want to have a coffee or wine and savor the experience.

One of my favorite places in Dresden. especially at dawn, when there is still some daylight and the street lights are on, it’s a wonderful scenery!

The architecture and statues are beautiful along the Bruehl Terrace as you walk along the Elbe with river boats alongside. We were there on a Sunday with families, dogs, street performers and "bubble blowers" aplenty. A very enjoyable and beautiful walk.
