We walked around the outside of the Rathaus. It was totally amazing, definitely worth getting off of the main shopping street and exploring.

Beautiful building but the hall was closed. The architecture is stunning for its period ( Late 1800's neo). Love the red stone from the region

Saarbrücken as we now know it is the merger of three pre-existing municipalities. This enormous city hall has been built for the new, combined city, in the well-known neo-gothic style of the German second empire (1870-1918). Worth a small detour to have a loot at it.

My third visit to this building. I do consider the Best in Saarbrucken.
The architect that design this Neo Gothic building was Georg J Von Hauberrisser.
About one thousand marriages per year take place in this town hall

The building itself is quite remarkably preserved. On top of hosting the City Hall and all its offices (which allows you to roam freely most of the first floor), it also hosts one of the two Tourist Infromation Offices in town. The ladies catering for the tourists well-being obviously did not attend the courtesy classes or skipped them. Make the visit profitable and use the free and extra clean toilets situated across the offices on the first floor.

This building is a beautiful example of gothic architecture. This building alone was was worth the trip out to Saarbrücken. The streetcars pass right in front of it as well. If you’re looking for public transportation, they are a great and inexpensive option.

Building of city hall in Saarbrucken is according to me the most beautiful building in Saarbrucken. It attracts everyone's attentions although there are more great buildings around. It is worth it to walk and spend some time to discover interesting details of its architecture.

The word Rathaus is usually used to designate the City Hall, in this case however, the building also has restaurants, a little theater and, of course, some administrative offices of the city. The architecture is amazing and is a central point in which most of the busses pass.

Saarbrücken is a place close to the border to
France. If you have some time during your stay in the Saarland, you can spend it by visiting this small city. The nice place of market of Staint Johann, (Sankt Johanner Markt in german language) is the place to see. Restaurants all around the place, a very old place with nice decorations, built in times of the 18th and 19th century. You can have good food and drinks.Beer and vine here are perfect served. Have fun and until later
