I offer a wide variety of guided tours in English and in German around the historic city of Mainz situated on the romantic Rhine in the heart of Germany.
I am a member of the German National Tour Guide Association have a PhD in Art History / History and grew up in Mainz. I have three children, I'm widely travelled, speak eloquent English and I love showing guests around my beautiful city.
Mainz is fascinating - I'm still excited about it and I love sharing it!

This was a wonderful tour of the churches in Mainz. Judith was so informative, energetic, entertaining, and animated with an expansive knowledge of the relevant history. We were traveling on a River Cruise and did not want to do the longer, boat excursion but didn't want to miss learning about the Chagall windows. We not only saw the Chagall windows in St Stephen's and the majesty of the Cathedral, but we also popped into St. Augustine's -- which we never would have noticed if we were on our own. Highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful guided tour by Judith König. She is very knowledgeable and she answered all our questions in perfect English. All our students said that the demonstration in de Gutenberg workshop was the highlight of our trip.

The tour of Old Mainz with Judith was absolutely superb! She made the history of the area come alive with her stories of the history, architecture , economic importance of this old city and made us fall in love with Mainz! It was truly the highlight of our time in Germany and would highly recommend her tour to anyone considering visiting this city. I know we would love to come back and spend more time exploring further.

Judith is well informed about Mainz and a great communicator. Among the five private guides that we hired to improve our travel European travel experience during our recent lengthy vacation, she was the best. She achieved a very good balance between historical data and interesting anecdotes. She is an excellent story teller who obviously enjoys her profession, her city and her fellow Mainz residents. She is enthusiastic, flexible and engaging.

We had the pleasure of taking a guided tour of Mainz Cathedral with Judith, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Judith’s deep knowledge of the cathedral’s history and art made the tour incredibly engaging and insightful. She brought the stories behind the stunning architecture and artwork to life, making us appreciate the significance of every detail. Her passion for the subject was evident, and she answered all our questions with enthusiasm and expertise. We left the tour with a much deeper understanding and appreciation of Old Mainz and Mainz Cathedral, thanks to Judith's exceptional guidance. I love the hat I bought from the hat shop you took us to. If I could give Judith more than 5 stars I would. Our walking tour of Mainz was perfect. Judith has a wealth of knowledge of Mainz and the local area. In a short time we learned so much of the rich history of the city and it’s landmarks (both obvious, like the cathedral, and obscure, like specific details about each of the buildings we passed). Judith made Mainz come alive through the ages for us. Judith gave us wonderful recommendations for dining and additional sites to see. This tour was beyond worth it. When visiting Germany again, we would love to tour with Judith again. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience on our Mainz tour. Judith discussed our interests ahead of time via WhatsApp and customized the tour for us. She provided so much more context than we would have gotten by reading pamphlets and signs, plus she showed us some out of the way places on the way back to the train station that we would have never found on our own.

Judith was knowledgeable and passionate about history. Her communication style was excellent. We were on a business trip from US & wanted to take a quick tour, we learned a lot and the Cathedral area was super cute for walking & taking photos. We enjoyed our tour, thank you!
