Roomy and Comfortable

Not for those with a fear of heights, but a great view was afforded as we went up to the fortress. Originally we were thinking of just riding up and back, but the family ticket into the museum was only a bit more and was worth it.

Very disappointing

The cable journey was short and expensive not worth the money.
At the top it just looked like waste land that needed developing! There was a gift shop and toilets that were charging! The amount we paid to go across you would think the toilet would have been free!!
It would have been improved there was an auditorial inside the cable car telling you about the views, instead there was a voice repeating "keep your face masks on!"

I would not recommend this 4 min canle ride.

A must do in Koblenz
Jul 2020
A good way to have a good and spectacular view on the whole city and on the Deusche Eck.
Ticket are not too expensive and you can buy a combined ticket with the fortress.
No waiting time at all. (but the weather was not too good that day)
You can then ride alone in the cabin with only your family - which is convenient in the current situation. Moreover, masks are obligatory.

Fantastic views

Excellent views, nice “adventure”for kids. Definitely worth going. It’s best to park your car in the upper part near the fort and use the cable car to go down to German Corner (Deutsche Ecke).

Lovely ride over the Rhine with great views
Feb 2020
Even though the weather was a bit mixed we really enjoyed our trip in the cable car to the fortress with the combi-ticket for under 15 Euro very much last weekend.
The views across both rivers, Moselle and Rhine, where they flow together at the Deutsche Eck (German Corner) are impressive and you can even see the Vulkaneifel (vulcanic mountain range) from up here. It's a smooth glide up to the fortress, the ground staff were super friendly and they allow dogs and wheelchairs, too.

Great Views but the fortress was disappointing
Jan 2020
We bought a combined ticket to include the fortress and return cable car

The cable car great , views and efficiency. Although a cloudy day it was worth it

The fortress itself was a huge disappointment . An audio was advertised around the site but not available and no English translations meaning we where left wondering about the historical site

The map was limiting and meant a lot of double backing and also we subsequently found out we missed a cracking viewing platform

The cafe was closed , although again no notification off this meant a lot of walking looking for the poorly sign posted cafe which when we came young was closed !

The fortress itself is magnificent and despite the criticism worth a visit however do not expect to walk away knowing more about the fortification and it’s history

We found the memorial to the war dead particularly moving as it is a rarity in Germany

Great view of the confluence and German Corner

I don't like heights but my wife really wanted to do this so we did, there was a light rain but not enough to effect the views. I actually enjoyed it very much. On the day we visited there were very few people so we had a car to ourselves.

Good views of the surrounding area.

For E 13.40 per adult you can secure a return journey in the cable car up to the Koblenz State Museum which was an old fortress. The cable car trip takes about 5 minutes and the maximum height must be about 150 feet. Very smooth ride and no swaying of the car. Good vantage point for photographs. No discounts for the older clientele.

The old fortress itself was a bit disappointing. There are a number of small museums contained therein bit no knock out exhibit. Probably the most interesting would the the Roman period. Allow yourself 1 hour for the fortress.
