After the end of the Second World War, several divisions of the US Army were permanently stationed in West Germany. At the time of the Cold War, there were constantly more than 200,000 US soldiers. For taking a trip into your past, this tour is just perfect for you!
Heidelberg is the ideal starting point for such a trip, as the majority of the US troops were stationed within a radius of just 50 miles around Heidelberg. If you go to "What To Expect" you may find more than 130 relevant sites including the names of barracks and other US facilities.
The name of my boutique-style chauffeur and limousine service is "a friend in heidelberg". Many guests of mine told me that this very name is the perfect choice.
I was not only born in the famous historical city of Heidelberg and know the area extremely well, but also lived and worked in the US and hence speak fluent English. If you wish I can help you with the organization of your trip ahead of time.
You will be chauffeured in a Mercedes S-Class, virtually a private jet for the road, equipped with all state-of-the-art features.

Visited today 20/08/2020 with wife and kids. Paid €19 for 30 minutes of wasted trip. Nothing is Japanese in the garden and not marked anything at all to saw what plant is what? Parking is not very well marked although shows signs from the road and then they disappear. Some parts were closed and whole placed seemed dull and boring. Go and spend to money and 30 minutes on a drink or something. Food is pathetic as spent €15, bought 2 sandwiches which were consist of 1 piece of potato sandwich and not even 2 and 2 drinks. Nothing else to say really. Avoid.

During every visit in KL we „have to“ visit the Japanese Garden at least once. The place is very tranquil and peaceful, and my son loves feeding the Koi (and the ducks) and we do spend hours relaxing and resting from the city vibes. Considering that the place is run by a non profit organization with lots of TLC, ist even more impressive! We also enjoy the little snacks, of cause along with a cold Japanese beer (and a soda for junior) I can only recommend to take the time to visit ! ! !

Since they had construction we couldn’t access everything, plus it wasn’t as peaceful as I assumed it could have been.

The garden was ok. Kids didn't seem to enjoy it as much as expected though. Little restaurant at the top had a limited selection and a little pricey.

Beautiful and refreshing. It has many trails. Difficult for people with physical disabilities or people with a stroller.
