After the end of the Second World War, several divisions of the US Army were permanently stationed in West Germany. At the time of the Cold War, there were constantly more than 200,000 US soldiers. For taking a trip into your past, this tour is just perfect for you!
Heidelberg is the ideal starting point for such a trip, as the majority of the US troops were stationed within a radius of just 50 miles around Heidelberg. If you go to "What To Expect" you may find more than 130 relevant sites including the names of barracks and other US facilities.
The name of my boutique-style chauffeur and limousine service is "a friend in heidelberg". Many guests of mine told me that this very name is the perfect choice.
I was not only born in the famous historical city of Heidelberg and know the area extremely well, but also lived and worked in the US and hence speak fluent English. If you wish I can help you with the organization of your trip ahead of time.
You will be chauffeured in a Mercedes S-Class, virtually a private jet for the road, equipped with all state-of-the-art features.

Maybe it was the weather, but for the cloudy misty october visit we saw all the animals! This was the best animal park experience I've had so far! Even the lynx came over and showed us his teeth. The deer, boar, bison, wildcats, lynx, everybody was ready for their close-up!

We were pleasantly surprised to find this in the heart of Kaiserslautern! It’s a free wildpark with free parking nearby-although a bit of a hike to get to animals! The animals are well cared for, easy to see, there’s a Kinderwald schule inside! It’s typical German! Children love this place! And it’s great exercise! I highly recommend it!

Pretty, open and well-maintained park, great for walking and talking a break from the city. The GPS knows all the main trials so no worry about getting lost. Animal attraction is free and nice for the whole family.

Place where the park is located is a beautiful forest on the outskirts of Kaiserslautern and walking there is enjoyable itself, especially in autumn when leaves change colour. Animals are obviously used to people and often come very close expecting something to eat or just being curious. It is a good place to spend a nice Sunday's afternoon.

Great walk through the woods. The animals look calm, peaceful and taken care of. No entry fee but you can still learn something from the billboards that hang in the enclosures. A cute time pass
