The Zoo is nicely planned where the animals and birds are well positioned for an easy tour. The Polar Bears, Sea Lions, Apes, Penguins, Elephants, Lions etc. seem well settled here. We loved the Lion’s pseudo natural habitat, it was a fresh sight. The only Restaurant here offers a good variety of food items to choose from with good seating... More

This was the place where my parents did take me when I was a little boy. A lot of things have been modernized. I was impressed to see the place after 48 years again. The zoo was founded on 5 December 1879. The central building opened together with the zoo itself on 8 September 1881. It featured 34 animals, among... More

Went to the zoo not expecting much at all but was really pleasantly surprised. It was really cold so some of the animals were in hiding but there was a really nice range and some great displays. The animals seemed well looked after. I would recommend this zoo as a little hidden gem if you're in the area. One word... More

Prepare to be tired!! Quite a good surprise for me, I was expecting a very unpopulated zoo and I was amazed!! It was very fun, very clean, and we could enjoy all the animals views. Very safe place too. Come with tennis shoes and the water bottle ready.

An excellent zoo right in the middle of Wuppertal city. Really easy to reach on the Schwebebahn. Numerous animals here. A few areas a bit run down but nevertheless a great day out with children. Quite hilly.

The Zoo in Wuppertal is very easy to visit. You reach there with the famous "Schwebebahn". Especially interesting for the children bw. 3-9. Pinguins, flamingos, elephants, lions... all can observed very closely.

I stopped in Wuppertal just to go to the zoo and leave again on a train. It was well worth it. It involves some hiking as it is hilly. What I enjoyed most was the snow leopard. Such a rare animal was great to watch and admire.

It's huge, it's beautiful and it tries very hard to build spacious and nature-like spaces for the animals. Best part: Not just the ways for the visitors, but even the enclosures have forest-like floors. A Highlight is the Tiger-enclosure: A big part of a forest, where you can feel your hair standing up when you spot the frickin big shadow... More

This zoo is set on a hillside so if you're handicapped it's good to know. This zoo is fine, very natural looking, nothing like Hannover or Seattle, but still fine. There is a lovely hanging bridge over a pond and I recommend you stand in the middle and shake the thing til you're nearly sick - it's great fun. Also... More

The very good ZOO from our point of view. We spent the whole day and admired the beasts. A lot of fun for children. A very good restaurant inside.
