Took a trip here on the Schwebebahn, a very neat little zoo with a good selection of enclosures. The apes section is superb, with several perspex screens that let you all but touch the orang-utans and chimps who often seemed to come up to them. The tigers have a big enclosure with a pool in one section and we got... More

The zoo is one of our favourite places to visit when we are visiting family in Wuppertal. It's well laid out with a great variety of animals. A warning is that some. Are seasonally not available but this hasn't ever reduced our enjoyment. The children's petting zoo with pigmy goats is a delight and out LOs never wan to leave.... More

Arrival to the place done via the Wuppertal Schwebebahn (Zoo/Stadion station). That already was hell of a fun! Entrance fee was reasonable. The place is fostered with care by it's employees. Everything is in it's right place, and whenever you feel like, you have enough space to sit and relax. Penguin's cave is a must (and a cooling room also),... More

I think that the Zoo Wuppertal is ne of the nicest zoos in Germany. You can see that the animals are well taken care of and the overall setting is really nice for families. Only downside: you have to walk up quite a few hills to see everything.

This zoo in Wuppertal is so amazing with a range of different animals, some big, some cute and some small. You should visit here with the tickets being very cheap.

Perhaps the best thing is the beautiful hillside setting, requiring some rather steep climbs at points, including a 250-meter climb up to the entrance from the elevated monorail stop. On a 2-hour mid-afternoon visit, I was able to see close up large quantities of flamingoes, monkeys, lions, tigers, leopards, elephants, snakes, penguins, polar bears, and many others. The lions and... More

When you enter, ask for a combi ticket. So you can also go later on the train tracks. My wife and I had fun in that. But about the zoo itself, very nice animals, big and spacious. It is on the mountain, so bring your climbing shoes :) And you can sit in the shade or walk close to the... More

I was so excited during my whole time in the Zoo! It was the first time I saw polar bears and penguins, and they really looked happy and interested in people that were looking at them! :) All the animals look generally well taken care off and they really have a lot of space so when the crowds get too... Wuppertal Zoo has a very unique layout due to the numerous small hills in the very picturesque large area in which it is situated.Apart from the landscape the very varied selection of animals is of great interest among other reasons for the breeding programme for endandered and rare species. The new building programme where the animals can now live in a... We came to the zoo as part of our wonderful trip to Cologne. We arrived here on the schwebebahn which is a novel way of getting about the town. We got off at the Zoo-Stadion stop which is only 400 yards from the zoo, just past the football stadium. It is €14.50 to enter and well worth a visit. The... More
