Quite a lot of interest here - unique 'Slinky' bridge, animal enclosures, fountain, adjacent canal with barges, plenty of restful seating, small restaurant. Lots of activities on the edge of the park. Worth a visit to relax away from the industrial heartland of the Rhur. Walking distance from the Gasometer.

The Kaisergarten is a small zoo. You must pay no entrance fee. There are several kinds of small animals or animals living in Germany, donkey, horse and deers for example.
It is nice to walk through the park. There is also a pond and some art.
Nearby is the Schloss Oberhausen. In the Schloss are shown exhibitions and in a cafe you can take a break.
Parking near the Kaisergarten or Schloss is easy.
When there is no rain, you will enjoy the time spend there.

I was quite surprised that it was free to enter inside this park because it was managed so properly.... Also I haven't expected that there were so many species. The architectural design of the bridge was just outstanding. Just go there and enjoy!!!! If possible go there at evening time!!!

The combination of a huge park area with a free (!) little zoo located directly at the "Rhein-Herne-Kanal" is a real great place to visit! There are several playgrounds, a nicely located lake, sweet animals in the zoo, relaxation benches at the channel, an outdoor restaurant, an internationally awarded bridge ("Rehberger Brücke - Slinky Springs to Fame"), several attractions for families (e.g. horseriding, minigolf). Starting at the Kaisergarten, there are also nice options to start a longer walk or even better a bicycle tour at the Rhein-Herne-Kanal. A nice hotspot for the whole family!

The gardens include an animal park, unusual spiral walkway and bridge, children's play areas and a number of cafes / eating areas. Ideal for family picnics.

This is a good place for a walk or running. For activities there is an open area. A field for basketball/soccer/handball and another one for beach volleyball. You will find a streethockey area and skater area and minigolf. A playground for smaller children is available.

At the time when I was in Oberhausen, I also visited the Kaisergarten to have excellent beer and as well as enjoy the nature and hike at the same time
