A museum worth visiting, which gives a good overview of the history of art in the last centuries. The present-day art is not neglected. There is a well-signposted route through the entire exhibition, so that you won't miss anything.

The Museum for Art and Culture in Muenster was terrific and its medieval collections were stunning! Relatively new, laid out well, excellent descriptions of collections, and generally a wonderful educational experience!

Atmosphere in the museum is fine, and different for various sectors. Maybe the guards are a little overguarding but you must accept this and adjust.

Unlike other visitors we do like the modern architecture of the museum. The exhibitions are changing and it is worth checking beforehand what is on offer. We spend a good time there. The museum café is a must - excellent coffee, nice cake, friendly staff.

I visited on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. There was a Catholic day festival on outside in the cathedral grounds, so not many people inside the museum. Whilst the collection is vast in scale and well laid out, I have never encountered museum attendants like the ones here. One particular young fellow was intent on following me into each room and standing directly behind me whilst I viewed the pairings, as if I was about to run out the door with one! I felt like saying to him, has he ever even been to another art museum anywhere else in the world!?? Whilst there were other attendants who did not follow me, this severely reduced the experience of the gallery, especially since he was following me in my favourite section of impressionist works. This museum needs to train its new attendants in correct etiquette! Also, there are NO English descriptions anywhere in sight, and no English audio guide. German only, and German rudeness too!
