Cycled out there. Industrial area. Was informed that it was a dump for toxic waste . Which ,thankfully has been covered over and an unusual sculpture has been placed on top. The view at the top is unsettling. It shows you the industries that caused "it" to exist. You can walk on this sculpture. See photos

Whats so good: This is a huge metal sculpture on top of a mountain. You can climb on it and walk over it through stairs. From the top you get great views of the surroundings so it was a totally different experience for me by getting unto such a huge sculpture. What may bother you: The walk up to the... More

we went with friends who had small children and we all had a great time. We went all the way round and as it is on a hill, we got some good views from the top

Walking the tarmac path round the bottom of the hill, which takes maybe 45 minutes, you can hear no sounds apart from birds singing. It's like being on the edge of a wood in the country. As one climbs the upward path the industrial economy of the area makes itself heard and seen. The structure is easily explored, even by... More

While the name of the place is unique, I cannot make the connection to why the name was chosen. Built on a former industrial land that was heavily polluted, the contaminated soil and debris are all piled, wrapped with a big plastic sheeting and covered with soil to make this artificial mountain. The structure is artsy, but has no real... More

I had seen many photos of this on the internet, that made me want to go there. We had to climb a mountain to go there. Extreme sports!!! When we climbed to the top, we saw that there was a road we could follow. OMG!!! Well it is really great experience and view, especially if you go on sunset. *Not... More

Tiger and turtle is nice place for quick visit. Views to the industrial area give good understanding about the ruhr-area.

Tiger and Tutle is within easy reach of Düsseldorf or Duisburg. If you have the chance and are somewhere near spend an hour climbing the little hill. On top of the hill you can walk the sculpture. No worries: It is impossible to fall of the stairs when you are upside down. Children will like it and I found it... More
