Went to the Zoo and paid full entry price only to find once I got inside that half the Zoo remains closed off to visitors. There are no signs before you enter to tell you this and then I was told by staff that I should have known better because they have it written in about size 8 font amongst a huge block of other text somewhere on their website and only in German. Took kids to the ZOO on a Sunday morning and spent half a day there. Spacious, with plenty to see. The dolphins show is entertaining for all age groups. Queues at food stands and bathrooms as one would expect. Overall a very good experience.

On visiting Duisburg on Family business we took time out and visited the zoo. Was very large so the price we thought would be worth it.. We were wrong, hardly any animals on show ( kept getting told they dont force animals out) 3 different times we went back and still didnt see tigers or gorillas, most of the enclosures were empty or under construction ( not a problem if we were informed) as big pricey when didnt see much. Although not all bad the things we did see were happy to see us and we did have a good time.. Would say that all signs never had a English translation and we had to take photographs of items we wanted at the food stalls, no map was given on arrival although a few were around the park but not many. The chinese garden was lovely but could of done with a few water features and seating but a lovely idea. Would say take a visit as what was there was enjoyable …

My partner and i had nothing to do as it was a Sunday and most things are closed in Germany on Sundays so, we decided to go to the Zoo. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of animals at this Zoo. The enclosures that the animals were in were well kept and a good size for the animals they homed. We were amazed by the Dolphin show which was included in the entry ticket. In other attractions that have dolphins you are usually charged between 30-50 euros just to watch a show. The show was family friendly and very inclusive of the audience. We will be visiting again and will recommend to friends and family.…
