Built in 1937 to celebrate "the industrious peoples" this park is a gem. It was occupied by the British at the end of WW2, and returned to the city in stages between 1953 and early 2000s. Having lived opposite the park for several years in...More

If you want to stay away from the big city, then a trip to the Nordpark, where you can also find the Aquazoo and a Japanese garden, is a good idea. Of course it is most beautiful in spring and summer, but also in other...More

Easy to get to via the tram. Very nice, well kept gardens with an aqua zoo in the grounds. The zoo was very interesting and the exhibits appeared very well kept. Even better, you get free admission with a valid Dusseldorf card.

Good free morning/afternoon family visit. On top of the beautiful gardens and scenery, there is a playground for children. There is also a small restaurant/snack shop where you ca eat and relax and the children can play at another small playground. Nordpark is also next...More

This is a beautiful park, lush and green with an excellent Japanese garden. Spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Top tip: avoid the cafe/restaurant in the park. Average food, very poor service. Go elsewhere!

I know the people are doing their best to keep this park beautiful but because of the ongoing drought this was a sad park visit. We went for a visit to the Aquazoo but decided to stroll through the park first because otherwise it would...More

The large park on the Rhine has a beautiful entrance flanked by two stone horses on stone pedestals. Inside, the park has wide tree-lined paths, large geometric flowerbeds, a lily garden, an aquarium and a Japanese garden. Great for a relaxing afternoon.

THE PARK ======== The park is fairly large, spanning the distance between the Rhein river and a road between the central city and Kaiserswerth/Lohausen which for me is very convenient. It has a dedicated U-Bahn (tram) stop called 'Nordpark/Aquazoo' -- speaking of which, there is...More

Actually I just wanted to see the japanese garden which is located in the northpark in Düsseldorf. The garden is part of the northpark and was exeptional build from the idols of original japanese gardens - surprisingly that the space used for the japanese part...More

Nordpark is nice all year round. Very scenic. But do not bother with the cafe. Service is rather poor.

You can take U-Bahn, if I remember well it was 7 and the stop is nordpark/aquazoo. Google maps is quite good in that city. You can put the destination and it will show the best transports to go.

It’s free. Note the restaurant inside is a paid service.
