Have been travelling here from London to see their Ring Cycle. Lovely cast, director, fabulous orchestra. The setting is relaxed but with the glamour you'd expect from the Opera. Nicely priced tickets, expensive drinks. Fab pretzels.

we enjoyed an evening with business contacts at the Opera House for a performance of 1927 (Strawinsky / Ravel). Good seating, good introduction, efficient service, good view of stage.

We went to an opera while we were in Dusseldorf on a break. I'm not a keen opera fan but we really enjoyed the production of Don Pasquale. The venue is stunning and there is plenty of leg room. You can get decent tickets for...More

Maria Kataeva as Angelina, she was like a real angel. All the staff, set and performance followed her success. It was a gala. First time in my life I ate food at an opera house, yes they served food. After having some wine I was...More

Over the past few years we have been quite regular visitors to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. I can remember some really good performances, but a few really awful ones as well! I think this is the problem : inconsistency! Some very fine singers, but...More

It is difficult to evaluate this place because I liked it on the outside, but I didn't have to time to watch/listen to any opera "show".

We attended a nice performance of Wagner's Lohengrin., for which we ordered tickets through internet (easy). Unfortunately it was impossible to order some food for the first pause (sold out already 30 minutes for the beginning of the opera). In the pause you really have...More

The river is one of the busiest places of the city. On one side you have restaurants and bars, the view to the other side and it's quite nice to take a walk.

Great performances for reasonable price; do not compare it with the Vienese Staatsoper or the Royal Operahouse of Covent Garden; do do expect very nice performances in a cosy theater in 50's architecture. Well worth a visit.
