To really get the most out of this you need a few days. There are so many pubs and restaurants you get confused with choice. Also a lovely fresh food and fruit market.

If you don't like the Konigsallee, you might like this, as it's quite the opposite: busy, cheap, and filled with tourists or, as in our case, with soccerfans. We spent just 20 minutes there. That was enough.

Famous is the special beer from Düsseldorf, the Altbier ("old beer"), brewed from an old traditional recipe, which is only brewed in a few places in the world since the end of the 19th century. Excellent beer and sausages, nice hospitable people.
