The hall that is home to the Kolner Philharmonie is an interesting blend of great acoustics but very odd interior structure that causes choke points both in entering and leaving a concert. We sat in the A section which is accessed from one side of the lobby, then along a level above stadium seats, then down several steps to our... More

It doesn't matter where you sit, you always have great acoustics - and I say that having sat in the first row and in the last. I'd suggest seeing a full orchestra concert just for the experience - and here's an awesome tip: check out the Philharmonie's schedule. They periodically offer something called "Philharmonie Lunch", small half hour concerts at... More

I searched venues in website and bought ticket from ticket office. The front seats are sold out.Just faraway seats left. However, the place is well designed so I didn't have any problem of watching the show. I could see clearly and the sound was amazing.

We enjoyed a concert of chamber music there on Boxing Day, and their programme looked enticing. Will definitely go back.

I went to hear Venice Baroque Orchestra play at the Kolner Philhamonie in October. The website worked well for ticket orders in English. The sound quality and visual aesthetics of the hall are excellent. The staff are very courteous as well.

Check with tourist information for FREE afternoon recitals. We were lucky enough to hear Handel`s Messiah in this wonderful venue with world-class acoustics. Afternoon performances are very informal family affairs (toddlers included), no tickets required, just arrive 1/2 hour before performance and sit anywhere you want ! (usually about 3/4 s full). Whether you like classical or not, it is... More

When it opened, it was a daring architectural piece - squeezed between the Cathedral, the Museum and the Rhine. It is engineered for great sound and good views even from cheaper seats - although these are quite far away from the stage. The large hall is not so suitable for chamber concerts - but these are somehow rare here.

Superb room, to appreciate the classical music in couple, alone or in family… Acoustics is sublime. You can find tickets at reduced prices during the week. It's very interesting. The noise is incredible! A beautiful moment of pleasure! Excel place visiting! Very beautiful excursion for architecture.
