We were in Cologne during a river cruise stop. We had a nice guided tour by the cruise company in the morning but had the afternoon to ourselves. Unfortunately, it was a Monday and most museums are closed on Mondays so we had limited options...More

OK so we've all heard of 4711 Glockengasse. No? well that is the home of the more famous 4711 Eau de Cologne. This one is much earlier but perhaps lesser known. I prefer the Koelnisch Wasser.

Lovely building, wonderful presentation and explanation of how the fragance is produced - a still family owned enterprise.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. It's an hour long tour where you learn the history of Eau de Cologne and how it is made. A really fun hour!
