Gardens are a little way out from the centre. About £10 in a taxi. They are pretty though and worth seeing. Quite small though.

In my opinion is not so special, with a sunny day one could go there for a walk. In the right period there are nice flowers

A lovely calm place with lots of foliage, greenery and flowers to look at. We walked from central Cologne along the river bank (not close but do recommend it for the exercise and the views) :)

Super exhibition citing Shakespeare references to plants of which he identifies 122 in his plays. I shall re read his plays to see how many plants I find reference to.

Had a walk and some snacks here. It's a nice way to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's quiet, colourful and well kept. Just go and wander about. Smell the plants and enjoy their colours.

Many nice walkways to take a stroll; beautiful trees, flowers and other plants. Entrance is free so no reason not to go!

Spent about three hours in the garden. There were frog pools, Giant Sequoia trees from Cali, and it was all extremely well kept. Its popular for locals to over lunch and there were several school groups as well as moms with their young kids. Super accessible on the "U" I went in June and the flowers were in full bloom... Beautiful gardens. Lots to look at. Very tranquil. Easy to take the "U" train - stops right outside the zoo. Walk past the zoo and you will see the gardens ahead of you. No admission charge either. Lots of moms with strollers and quiet families enjoying the peace and quiet in a beautiful setting.

This is a Great place for day activiety near the Zoo although one wont have enough time in a day to do both. The botanical gardens of cologne offer both local plants and from abroad. Also you find eats and drinks in the restaurant on site. There are rooms for rent for events like weddings etc. so it is not... More

Visiting the Botanical Gardens in Cologne, situated adjacent to Cologne Zoo, is a fantastic (and free!) way to spend an afternoon just outside the city centre. There are many opportunities available for the budding photographer, as well as isolated spots where one can sit and relax. The Botanical Gardens are well-maintained, attracting local wildlife, and provide some respite from the... More
