Really interesting and thought-provoking experience, with a different, more critical point of view than other anthropological museums I have visited. Varied exhibits and informative audio guide available in English. Would be of interest to adults and children alike.

I bought a ticket and then proceeded to enter the museum but was then told to go to the cloakroom. Confused I did so. I had a small handbag with me that was just big enough to fit my phone, purse, keys, diary and passport...More

This museum shows cultures from all over the world, with comments mostly about the relation of Europeans with that "far-away" world. How we got to know the other parts of the world and how we, as Europeans, thought that "all that" was primitive and how...More

Really interesting museum. My 5 year old enjoyed looking at all the interesting artefacts. The staff were great, really friendly and went out of their way to show us certain exhibits. Spent a great couple of hours having a wander.

It is the perfect museum to visit when you have 1.5-2h. The collection is not that big but still remains a good selection of different cultures, it is quite modern and the way some things are displayed is really interesting (even fun?). For both adults...More

This was not quite what I expected, as it's an ethnography museum I expected it more to be about the history of Cologne through the ages. However it's more a collection of religious artefacts from different religions. It was still interesting though

This museum displays a nice collection of cultural items, collected from around the world. Many items go back a few centuries. I think it combines well with the Schnütgen museum in the same building.

A magic place where you walk through continents, civilisation and crafted art work. Absolute must and even nice with children.

It's one of the highlights of Cologne along with the Roman Museum. The collection of artifacts is deeply diversed somehow analogical to the Tropen Museum in Amsterdam but definitely will stay with you for years in your memory. Sightseeing is not enough, to get better...More
