I was genuinely surprised by this little museum. I love how it is chronologically arranged and appreciate that it is small and orderly. Great collection of impressionist and Dutch works.

The museum has an impressive collection ranging from Medieval to modern. The informative signs provided interesting information beyond the usual basic facts, and all had English translations. Be ready to check any umbrellas and bags larger than a very small handbag.

On three floors, representing different eras, each floor with a large collection of paintings, well worth an afternoon viewing, reasonably priced and well laid out with German and English notes about most of the paintings.

It contains a cornucopia of exquisite art ranging from medieval through baroque to the impressionists and modernism (in fact, the museum has the widest collection of impressionist and neo-impressionist art in Germany). Set across...More

A nice varied collection of medivael to post impressionist paintings. No audioguide but plenty of info in detail on panels. Also nice views of the city and the cathedral.

This museum is a great choice because it has much to offer, other than it's permanent collection. When I visited it, it had an awesome temporary exhibition that showed how artists used to paint on wood surfaces during Medieval times. It let you touch different...More
