That's how the story of Bonn Münster begins. Event it suffered quite a few serious damages, but each time it was restored to the full. During your visit don't miss this place. It's really worth seeing both inside and outside. Lying in the square on the east end of the basilica are large sculpted heads of the Roman martyrs Cassius... More

I had wanted to visit Bonn ,the former capital of West Germany for year's and as we were touring the cities of North Rhine/Westphalia i was greatly looking forward to taking in the site's of this city and in BASILICA of ST MARTIN we found a beautiful landmark site. The building look's beautiful from outside, a gothic design ,very impressive... More

Small, beautiful - if you are in Bonn, you should at least take a look. The ceiling over the main altar is truly beautiful.

The Basilica even as not large as the Cologne Cathedral, is older than the other church. It is a church not in Gothic style, but in roman style with less height and lighter. Is free of charge and you also can visit the garden inside where it is the priester residency. They are undergoing major reforms and they have a... More

Bonn Minster (also known as the Basilica of St Martin) is an imposing building in central Bonn. It was built between the 11th & 13th centuries and although it may be an architectural gem of its time I personally found it quite an unattractive church externally, rather heavy and dull. However, we thought we'd take a look inside and were... More

Very close to the Dom, you can find another great place to see and enter, discovering another great vision of this city. Near the Rhine and in the old city, you can find it perfectly located between the old buildings. once inside I was lucky to assist a celebration, wich was very beautiful and peaceful. Don't miss.

The church is very friendly, but slightly disorienting, as it operates on different levels, and you can't see everything from any one position. Well worthwhile exploring the different chapels and details, there are lots of surprises hidden away from Roman sculpture to some great modern windows.

sad to say but after awhile they all start looking a bit alike. Nice to visit but nothing really stood out.

On first stepping in it seemed a bit austere compared to some but there was much to explore and have explained. Crypt worth a visit but, because it was Holy Week, it was only open for prayer. Fair enough - it IS a church after all.
