Easy to find Beethoven's house in the city centre, it's small but very interesting and it has a few of Bethoven's possessions on display such as a piano, his hearing aid iitems, many photos etc. A guided tour is a good idea as you end up getting more details & anedoctal information. No photos alowed. Make sure you view his... More

I was really looking forward to going there and seeing the place where Beethoven was born and it was great, however there are lots of things that could be improved. We couldn't get the audio guide because we got there one hour before it closed, so we got a text guide which was really confusing. The numbers and correspondance to... More

Charming house museum of the great genius of classical music. an absolute must for any stay in the old capital of the FRG. Here it is played more on emotions than anything else but it deserves a careful visit. Surly staff. Time needed 90/120 minutes @ gargio76

If You want to get a vivid impression of the life of the most famous classic composer and musican Ludwig van Beethoven you have to go to this place: the small house in the Bonngasse in Bonn where Bonn's great son was born. You get Information about his life and his work. You see the rooms where HE lived and... More

One of the best museum based on a person. Contain a lot of personal belongings of Beethoven. Do take the audio guide which costs 2.5 euro (10 euro deposit) without its just another old house with lots of old items.

The house where Beethoven was born is now a museum and contains many of his personal artifacts and music. There is a charge of 6 euros to walk through but if you just want to buy a souvenir there is a small shop inside where you can enter at no cost. I bought a small music box which plays Fur... More

Something of everything connected with the great man is to be found here. You see the room he was born in, his first organ that he played, his piano, and so many of his original manuscripts and letters, together with his hearing aids and the notebook he used to converse with to and from his friends. There are twelve rooms... More

It is very humbling to come into this very ordinary house and to realise that this was where Ludwig van Beethoven was born. Very understandably no photography is permitted, it can be damaging to furnishings.

Whether you are a Beethoven fun or not, this museum is worth a visit. You have a detailed look at his life and a feeling of how it was back in his childhood days and his Bonn’s years, before he moved to Vienna. The museum has an exhaustive archive library where you can see photos, read his letters, and even... More
