In 2020, the 250th birthday of the protagonist, the Beethovenhaus will undoubtedly be mobbed, so you should definitely go before. I can imagine that some of the less flattering reviews were due to seeing the museum without the audio guide. Much of the posted information...More

It’s not far to walk from the main high street and just a normal house but quite astounding to realise such a world renown musician came from such humble dwellings. Some fascinating history too as you go in.

They have Beethoven's piano, some of his other instruments, and his agonizingly drafted last will and testament, but most of the other objects are at best tangentially related. Also, there is virtually no attempt to present Beethoven as a musician and composer. Just a lot...More

From the entrance to the exit the people working here were unfriendly and rude. In the first place there is no interesting information about this place because it shows only where Beethoven was born but that is not their house. The room where he was...More

Although Beethoven only spent the first few years of his life here, the displays go some way to presenting his life, genius, and struggles with deafness. An audio guide is invaluable in explaining the various displays.

A very well kept old house and nice to see a house from the past. There was very little to see in the house and Beethoven did only live here for the first 4 years of his life. If you don’t have much time in...More

Come to Bonn and don't visit Beethoven House is a mistake. That's a place very rich in history of the classic music and many contributions left by Beethoven. Informations about his live, his instruments, his letters and musics that he wrote. The price is fair...More

I'll start with saying it was a hot day- too hot! 39 degrees as we arrived in Bonn from GB. So we were a bit uncomfortable as we arrived. However the house (museum) was beautifully cool and we took some time out to get comfortable....More

Even though Beethoven just spent here his first three years (his family moved many times, as Ludvig will do later in Vienna), the collection of objects accompany the visitor through the entire Beethoven's life. It is also possible to see Beethoven's manuscripts, listening to performances...More
