Fun display of money-focused bankers, representing money circulation. Bronze statues around a little round pond.

"Kreislauf des Geldes" (“money cycle”)- I was impressed by this allegorical fountain thus by return home, couldn’t let it go and found the biography of its sculpture-Karl Henning Seemann, he is amazing genius and creator of some more allegorical sculptures beside this one.

The bronze people symbolize avarice, greed, patronage and begging. Just like money, the water is in a cycle..

For an 'ordinary' monument, it really made me look at each figure thoroughly. It also made me go around it and step back to look at the bigger picture of the whole monument. The Cycle of Money is just brilliant and meaningful!

Really original monument with people (in bronze) and water "interworking" in a real life scenario. Something never seen before.

As you walk around Aachen you will be very aware of how important water has been through the ages to this city. Fountains and water features are a real feature and when it is centred on interesting staues as well, then worth a visit.

The Kreislauf des Geldes is fountain, the name roughly translating as Cycle of Money. The fountain features a sculptural ensemble of caricatures passing money between each other representing various “vices” associated with money. Each transfer of money an allegory of ostentatious, greed, patronage and the begging.

The fountain is easy to find as it’s just in front of Aachen Cathedral and a nice little morality tale appropriated located adjacent to a church.

you can really spend time and make your own story about the circulation of money at this fountain. Maybe that was the idea of the artist? really worthwhile to go and enjoy this fountain.
Throw some coins into the fountain and watch how the motion of the water moves it into the central point. I don't know if you should wish and I don't know what the money is used for but it is fun to see it disappear

Few reviews here already told all about this amazing artwork, so I won't copypaste wiki data. Just reach this place and make a few rounds staring at the faces of those allegoric figures. It might give you new meanings.

The fountain is very interesting and the subject is money and its effect on men.
There are some allegories which are well expressed.

Clearly, the artist is portraying the "vicious cycle" of money, and for that, I think it's a success. It's clever and well-made, and it has a beautiful backdrop of the Aachen Cathedral. You can't really miss it if you're visiting the cathedral and/or the Christmas market in Aachen. Lovely town, as well.
