Former ducal palace set on an island in the middle of the lake. Although the island is not that far from the shore. The palace is partially open to visitors as the local parliament occupies the rest of the building. You can visit the state rooms and rooms displaying the former ducal porcelain collection, silverware and armoury. As the former... More

Located in the quiet but beautiful city of Schwerin, surrounded by green areas and lakes make this castle a very romantic location. One of the most beautiful castles of Germany (in my opinion) and it also has beautiful gardens to take an afternoon walk with some good company.

After spending three days in Berlin, we decided to hop the train and see something different - we came across Schwerin and its delightful castle. We took the audio tour which was very informative and toured the lovely castle. We strolled the grounds and had dessert at the Orangery. I was a bit concerned there wouldn't be enough to do... More

A very beautiful castle in a lovely town. There is a beautiful garden in front of the castle as well. If you go further, you can take nice photos of the castle. Unfortunately, when I was there, the castle was under construction/renovation, and almost one side of the castle was covered, and there was a large crane as well! Wow... More

Just beautiful; Schwerin Castles beauty does lie only in its beauty alone, but rather in the setting with the lake and the nice old town of Schwerin itself.

Impressive castle beautifully situated on its own little island in Schweriner See. We were not inside the castle but enjoyed the surroundings especially the beautiful orangery. Quite definitely worth a visit. Next time we will devote time to see the interior.

Thank Mia M
