We stopped for coffee and the grand cafe and sat and admired the sculptures around the lovely fountain.

This water fountain is located in front of the old University building on Kröpeliner Strasse.

Interesting fountain in the Rastock is definitely something you wanna see when ever you come to Rostock.

Situated at the top of the pedestrianised Kropeliner Strasse this interesting fountain know as the "porn fountain" is worth a look.

We were spending a pleasant Saturday afternoon exploring the central area of Rostock while our cruise ship was docked in the port of Rostock for the day.
While shopping in Kropeliner Strasse which is the main retail precinct in Rostock, we headed just around the corner to take a look at the Rostock University building. We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice plaza area in front of the university building featuring this fun and quirky fountain.
Most of the human figures featured in the fountain had been sculpted naked and there were jets of water which would squirt water out of nozzles embedded in the pavement.
It wasn’t a particularly warm spring day but there were still several small children enjoying themselves playing amongst the spouts of water.
Certainly worth a quick look by any tourist spending time in Rostock!

Call it the "family fountain" or the "porn fountain," and chances are, the locals will know what you're talking about. But call it by it's proper name -- the "Joy of Life" fountain -- and you'll get some blank stares. At least, that's what our guide told us. It's an interesting mix of naked men, women, children and animals; but put in perspective: Rostock's ballyhooed zoo and nude beach aren't too far away. Which explains everything. Right? (Clear as mud to me; but then, what do I know? I'm an American.)

The fountain is located on a square near an old school in Rostock. The fountain is quite interesting though as others have noted all the people are nude. It makes a great photo stop however when you combine it in the foreground with the school building in the background.

This is kind of surprising fountain celebrating family life and life in general. All the cavorting figures are nude which has given the fountain the nickname of “porn fountain.”

Unique seating on naked statues at the fountain of zest for life located in University Square, in front of the University of Rostock. These are very appropriately called “The porn fountains.” The statues and unique main seating are on two long nide sculptures of a woman and a man.

This fountain has a nickname among the locals: "The Porn Fountain" (according to our guide at the guided tour), and one can see why! :-D Still, the statues are very well-made and interesting, and interact well with the water. There are many big and small figures to look at, some of them funny - such as the cute little boar pig - and children seem to love them!
