The place has been opened 30 years ago and could use a touch-up. It presents VW's history, concentrating on iconic models like the Beetle, Transporter van and Golf. It's a must see for car enthousiasts, but be sure to visit it before going to the Autostadt so you wouldn't be a bit dissapointed.

As we were making our laps of the Autostadt, we noticed this museum with dozens of car adorning the windows, so we decided to stop by. The museum really bosts nothing special except cars and information. You can spend at least an hour at the Volkswagen Auto Museum if you enjoy cars but it is still perfect for the average... More

We visited Wolfsburg for 3 days as we had a Tour booked in the VW Factory (thats amazing aswell) so we visited the AutoMuseum on the day we arrived. With only a €6 entry fee you could not get a better way to spend afew hours as a VW geek. We spent atleast 2 hours here and could have spent... More

There are some other interesting places to see in the Autostadt. the Auto Museum is only for car fans, I think.

Great for the VW enthusiast of course but this museum gives a huge insight into the history and development of the automobile and the automotive industry.

I dropped by here to see all the Volkswagen Beetles and Campers that I miss seeing on the road. Not disappointing at all. If you want to see more cars, you can visit the Autostadt across the Volkswage Arena across the river.

Changing exhibitions are making this museum quiet interesting although it is a bit smaller than other car museums I've been to. The descriptions of the exhibits are a bit sort and could do with some more exhaustive explanation. But otherwise it is really nice, as there are also not only VW cars on display.

The best place to find all the exclusive models of Volkswagen that you can't find in a random exibithion. Ideal for the true VW fans. Cheap entrance.

My boyfriend and I visited here in September, it was a surprise to me as I love campers. The museum is about 20 mins walk out of the city. There is parking available at the museum. It only sells water as refreshments but there is a mc Donald's only a few metres away if you are peckish or thirsty. The... More
