in summer time and in winter time as well

Closed to the center of the city is this amazing lake. Paradise with blue and greens, the Maschsee Festival is just great, have to visit it once in your lifetime.

A beautiful location where August sees the annual Food Fair. Its really bustling - but not until after 2pm. Such a variety of food and beverage in one venue on the northern shore of the Marschsee.

Great night out much to see and do will be going back. The festival is spread out so not crammed into one area. No stress easy access to beer and toilets. All in all well worth a visit

Swimming beach at one end. Other end a hotel. Along the east edge pop up bars, restaurants, band stands and so on. The go to place for summer evening entertainment. It's also good for a quick 6km jog around the lake.

We visited the strandbad - outdoor swimming area. Price was cheap (2,30e / person) but it included only the beach. There were basic toilets with no soap. There were no services (food, ice cream, drinks) at all in the area but you can come back in the same day with bracelet. Woman selling tickets couldn't speak english.

Rented a bike near the main train station and had a lovely ride around the lake. The bike path was separate from the walking/running path. Perfect. There were plenty of places to stop and enjoy the gorgeous views. A few food/beverage places along the way, too. Perfect afternoon!

We sat on the shore and watched the rowers, both individual kayakers and competition team rowers. It was a nice place to sit in the middle of our walk along the red thread (line).

I have been there several times in summer and it is a cool place to chill. It is only 5mins walk from city centre and it is big enough for concerts, fishing, sailing, kayaking .etc water sports. There are steps around the lake which you can sit and gather with friends.
