This small aquarium is a recurrent focal point in our visits to Hannover. The main exhibition covers many different types of fish from different biotopes, and does not miss on the essentials: clown fish, sharks, rays of several kinds, octopus, jellyfish, and many, many more.
Above the main tank there is also an exhibition of tropical forests, where piranhas and crocodiles are also on display.
Finally, they have a section with temporary displays. The most recent one we have seen showed all kinds of jellyfish big and small in black light, which made them glow beautifully.
The queue can be long at times, so get a reservation online in advance if at all possible. The official price is a liitle bit steep, but it is fairly easy to get discount coupons to have one child free if one of the parents pays the full fee.
Food is not available during the visit, only at the end. However, with your ticket you also get a stamp on your hand that allows you to come back in if you want to have a bite.

Really great place to see underwater creatures, quite exciting place for kids. Not very big but they have very beautiful collection. Worth spending an afternoon.

Allow an hour to explore everything. Indoor sealife and you can take your time to see everything. Beautiful creatures to be amazed. Highly recommended for families with kids and they'll love the experience!

We were there first thing in the morning, unfortunately the weather was bad that day
We didn't think it would be so busy, despite the holidays
It was just too crowded, everyone was annoyed, you couldn't get through anywhere with the stroller without running over the feet or heels of the other guests
Personally, I didn't get anything out of my €20 entrance fee, I just kept watching and standing in some corner
We also had to be very careful with our 5-year-old daughter so that she didn't get lost in the crowd
Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience this time, we were glad to be outside again
Sorry

This was supposed to be a day trip. But unfortunately the facility is so small that you can get through it in 10 minutes. I paid 2 E 2 K 73€. The money and petrol was wasted. I can't recommend it to anyone. There are automatic toys everywhere. Where you can get plastic toys. Like from a surprise egg. Just no chocolate.

We visited sea life with our 3 1/2 year old and 7 month old on a rainy day in August and after having especially bought online tickets we were very disappointed that we still had to queue for 75 minutes in the pouring rain which meant we missed the feeding of the stingrays for which we had specifically left early to see!!
After having queued for so long we thought we would spend at least 2-3 hours there, but it was completely overcrowded with not much room to manoeuvre our buggy.
Due to the overcrowding our oldest wasn't able to get a good look at many of the fish and we were finished after just over an hour.
Also, having the shop till just by the exit is a terrible idea as people trying to pay are pushed in every direction!!
Would definitely not recommend with young children!!

Definitely worth a visit. As an English only speaker, there were many signs in English and German. Every member of staff I spoke to had a very good grasp of English. I was in the Tropical Rain Forest area when a member of staff called me down to see the feeding of the stingrays. Lots to see, crocodiles, sting rays, octopus, nemo and friends. There was a small 'cinema' but it was in German so didn't see that. I visited on a Monday afternoon, no queuing at all. I have an annual pass which is great value but cant comment on individual prices i know you can get a lot of 2 for 1 offers. Small cafe at the end with nice outdoor seating area and has a small gift shop. Really good fun and I appreciate what they are doing to preserve and protect.

Although a price was a bit steep, the stuff offered is quite good. You start with stroll around various fish tanks with some exotic species, than you go beneth the main tank, and after that you have a chance to see how rainforests look like. This last part most surprised me, and I quite enjoyed it.
Staff is extremly friendly and polite.
Highly recommended.

Went here with my boyfriend a few months ago. Cant say I was that impressed. Had to queue to get in and we were only in there for about an hour. The aquariums really small and cramped and hard to move around and see into the tanks as lots of people in the way. I have been to much better aquariums.
Its ok to visit, but I can think of better places to go in Hanover.

Very interesting place. We enjoyed our walk in there.Especially if you have kids is wonderful!!
Also plays various kinds of presentations from experts for reptiles or fishes. ..The ticket i believe that responds to what is offering and if you hang it through internet,u earn some discount.
