    Stunning theatre in Wiesbaden
Absolutely beautiful building! I recommend seeing a show when possible, but you can also enjoy it from outside the building. There are parks on both sides of the theatre and it is very close to downtown where the market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Bring a picnic and bask on the lawn by the theatre. If you attend a show, I recommend formal attire to match the building's grandeur inside.

    Amazing environment with great performance
Amazing environment with great performance we came early before the start and enjoyed a drink in the amazing atmosphere of the Foyer. The bar serves small snacks and nice drinks in a stunning setting. The performance was powerful and on high standards. We will come again.

    Wiesbaden Theatre
Constructed from 1892 to 1894 and open to the public since 1894. The theatre has four stages. The Great House (Main one with over 1k seats), the Small House (328 seats), the Studio (89 seats) and the Wartburg (136 seats). Impressive building that apparently hosts over 800 events per year.

    A Real Gem in Wiesbaden
This turn-of-the-century theatre is one of the most spectacular in Germany. If you have a chance to see a performance while in Wiesbaden you are in for a treat. The acoustics are terrific and you will enjoy yourself immensely.

Enjjoy ballet or opera at State Theatre and Opera House
If in Wiesbaden you MUST make sure you take time to visit the State Theatre and Opera House. Last month we enjoyed a performance of La Boheme and previously had been to the ballet there. The opera house is a magnificent building and the bar area at interval time is truly amazing.

Worth the money to take in a ballet, play or opera
I have been inside many European opera houses and this one is the most ornate that I have ever seen on the inside. Imagine being inside a Faberge egg. Still outside the front of the theater is very plain as it was damaged during WWII but the back and side of the theater is reminiscent of the glory days before the war with gorgeous statues and ornate columns. There is not a bad seat in big theater and the lobby area is beautiful. A fun place to go at intermission. I would highly recommend watching a ballet here. Currently, Cinderella and a triple bill is playing. We saw Cinderella and loved it! It is the Brother's Grimm version with a bit of humor with the dancers in ballet shoes in the first act but in pointe shoes for the second act. The triple bill will be more modern. But even if you don't like modern dance, the dancers are very, very good. The orchestra is wonderful as well. These people love what they do and it shows. A must see stop in Wiesbaden.

    beautiful old theater
My daughter's school class attended a production (I got to go along) of Peter's World Tour (It was in German, I think that is an ok translation) and it was the first time I had been inside this gorgeous building. The outside is a landmark in Wiesbaden, along side the casino and across the street from the markt platz. The interior is richly decorated, and the production we saw was excellent. Of note, what appears to be the front entrance (facing the park, they place a skating rink there around christmas time) is actually the back and everyone uses the other side which faces the casino and bowling green.

    Outstanding experience
Attended a ballet here with private box seats just 2 weeks after moving to wiesbaden and we're blown away by the beauty, performance, architecture etc... outstanding. We will be going once a month for something. No lifts so be prepared for steps. Worth it and intermission experience was incredible in the magnificent ball room.

    Gorgeous theatre
Visiting Germany. Glad we could see inside this wonderful testament to opera. Pity the season didn’t have an opera performing then. Spacious and yet surprisingly intimate. Comfortable seats and gorgeous stairs, floors and ceilings. Worth the visit.

Professional contemporary production of "La Traviata" in Wiesbaden State Theatre
It is a lovely baroque theatre well maintained and allows modern productions of Opera, plays and symphony concerts. The performance of "La Traviata" was professional with contemporary props and costuming. Subtitles are screened above the stage in an unobtrusive way helping one to follow the plot. A very good choice of seating allows for taste and ones budget. A worthwhile outing.

A beautiful theater inside and out. I would definitely go to a performance if you can. The tickets are very affordable and there isn't a bad seat in the house. There is a wide selection of performances too and some are in English.

If you are into opera, stage plays, or any other staged presentations, then this is the place for you. The old-world charm oozes from every corner from the foyer to the stage. It's great.

Beautiful building masterfully kept up and maintained, within viewing distance to the Kurhaus and just a pleasure to look at. Ideally, try to purchase a ticket for a performance for the big hall (das Große Haus) which will allow you to take a look at the very rich interior. Nicely nestled in a wide park area, so enjoy a stroll through the Kurpark located behind the Kurhaus very close by.
