This opera house is smaller than the average European house, and is less opulent than opera houses in Prague, Vienna or New York. But it functions well, and is in great shape. Easy access via the metro, and it is a short walk from the...More

Visiting Germany. Glad we could see inside this wonderful testament to opera. Pity the season didn’t have an opera performing then. Spacious and yet surprisingly intimate. Comfortable seats and gorgeous stairs, floors and ceilings. Worth the visit.

This is a very impressiv building. I didn't go inside but enjoyed the intricate carvings from the outside. It is set in a nice park with a few sculptures and a small lake inhabited by lots of ducks and geese. Very enjoyable to wander through...More

Try and see something here! The theatre offers performances almost every night of the season, often with adjacent performances in the smaller house and studio. Always a high level of entertainment with a broad mix of classic repertoire with newer jewels.

As I was exploring Wiesbaden, I came across the Hessen state theater building. It is located at Christian-Zais-Straße 3 next to the Kurhaus. Terrific architecture.

This is a classic Austro-Hungarian Imperial Theatre ...magnificent architecture. So check the dates of the opera and the ballet and book yourself tickets. We saw an opera ....all in German ....didn't understand a word ....but the spectacle was more than worth it !!
