Visited the Schloss as we enjoy seeing the different history from the areas. The walk from the town center was easy but there are some steeper sections along the roads. An enjoyable walk up through the gardens and there are rest areas with seating offering...More

There is a very lively and colourful15C tapestry depicting the story of the prodigal son and an amusing pottery piece showing Louis Napoleon's meeting with Bismarck. It is a delightful hodgepodge of a museum.

This castle sits a top the hill in Marburg and overlooks the entire valley. Views from the base of the Schloss are fantastic and you get a good view of old town Marburg. You can tour the Schloss on your own for 3 or 5...More

This castle was built on top of Schlossberg (287m) in the 11 century as a fort . Today used as a small museum. Very nice city view . Nice climbing up by foot. Also bus service .

We enjoyed learning about the art and history of the area. We were especially impressed by the traditional and contemporary pottery. There's also a great walking path that takes you down from the castle to the historical center.

We were fortunate to have a tour guide no only share about the castle, but the surrounding market and town. Lots of history in this small town. The walk is a bit steep, with choice of stairs or cobblestone paths. Find the references around town...More

Just got to the Castle. What a great view of the city! Museum closes at 4pm so need to get in no later than 3:30 pm.

The castle is beautiful, the museum has some very interesting part but it´s not worth the visit in a sunny day unless you have a lot of time. Rather walk around in the garden and in the forest nearby. If it´s cold or raining spend...More

Visited the museum and the reformation exhibition. The castle is a great place but no cafe/restaurant. Beware the museum opens at 11am even though they sell tickets already at 10am. Great views and nice yard in the castle.

The Marburg Castle sits high above the beautiful, historic hilltop city with its half-timbered houses, cosy streets and thousands of steps. It is a reasonably short but steep walk from the town square but there is also a regular bus service, and if you don't...More

There are so many great Castles to visit in Europe. I think Edinburg has some exceptional ones, with a tour telling the history about Mary Stuart and her time. In Vienna, there are several Castles, and I think Schönnbrun is... More
