We live in London and i have my beloved auntie that lives in a little town called Melsungen, you can call it a village if you like however the best means of a little action in terms of shopping centre we was told to get a tram number RT5 from Melsungen right into the heart of Kassel Hauptbahnhof ( Still cant pronounce the damn thing lol)
And it actually says what it does on the tin i suppose you get out the tram and your surrounded by shops even before you enter the city point shopping center from shops like TK MAXX, MULLER,GAMESTOP and STARBUCKS and the list continues.
And once you enter city point you will be gobsmacked by the variety inside its, if im not mistaken 4-5 floors which the very top floor is a Electronic Superstore on Steroids it actually has EVERYTHING and if you cant find something electronic here i think your best bet would be to go Tokyo but as i mentioned this is the WHOLE top floor considering theres on average over 10-15 shops on floors below this covers the whole thing.
The floors below have a food court from all your favourites such as KFC ,SUBWAY etc etc and then the rest is from clothes all the way down to supermarkets and stationary equipment and obviously not forgetting cosmetics and toy stores so in conclusion this shopping mall would take up your ENTIRE day so be prepared and i hope you enjoy as much as we did

City Point is a regular stop on any of our Kassel-trips. It is located in the city-centre directly at the Königsplatz and has -somewhat pricy- underground parking. Architecture is modern, spacious and bright. You'll find a good variety of fashion shops, food outlets (incl. icecream at Zanetti!), and a supermarket in the basement.

Wonderful city, very clean and has, as almost all German cities do, a well structured public transport system. So getting around is easy, safe and absolutely user friendly. Even getting to other cities by train is so easy and uncomplicated. Wonderful restaurants, really good food although served differently to what we are used to in SA but we're not in SA...we're in Germany and the whole experience is awesome! People are extremely friendly and hospitable. Wonderful city to visit!
