This is a large park with a variety on trees, walking routes, grand buildings and a impressive castle on top of the hill. On your climb to there you see different waters and a Roman style aquaduct. From top to bottom this is in fact one gigantic waterfall, build by man in the 18th century. Different museums in the surrounding buildings. Nice to spend a few hours when you are in Kassel.

This is an amazing museum with one of the best display of ‘old masters’ we have ever seen, spent all day here, it was wonderful BUT there is no way anyone who has any slight disability can visit this museum. You can get No 1 tram so far up but the bus which continues up only runs on a Wednesday when the water display at Hercules monument takes place, our hotel failed to tell us this so at the end of the tram route we were faced with the steep walk to the Schloss. We were fine and able to do this but anyone with mobility problems could not so this puts this museum out of their remit. When we mentioned to staff that they should run some kind of transport I.e. trolley bus or mini bus we were told as it was historic site they couldn’t have buses or cars going there despite the fact that there were vans parked up there. Do think this should be available for all to see.

We went there on a Wednesday afternoon when the waterfall is working. Beautiful old park and buildings. The waterfall is a nice piece of engineering. Because of the big area you don’t see the amount of people. But when the water is coming down, the people are also coming. At the end, there are thousands of people in the park.

This is a real fanrasy castle. Just like the rest of the parc. Pitty that renovations spoiled the potential great pictures.
