nice area to find a few insider cafes and restaurants with a wides range of fresh and special menues. from the center take the u4 from the konstablerwache its only 1 stop till meriamplatz and walk your way up the street or take one or two stops more its all along the same street . when you get to bornheim mitte you get to the older part of the street keep walking , although it first might seem that there is no more to see there are a few more shops and nice restaurants - some of them local german cuisine , an english pub and more in the summer people are seated outside until the place must close and its a light and fun athmosphere.

The street is very long... and along it you will find any type of restaurant from the more traditionnal to the most modern... the Apfel Wein is a must go, it is a traditional tavern with great food and the setting is authentic.

This street is in Borneheim it kind of east north part of Frankfurt, Every one what to live in this district it like having your bakery, butcher, supermarket all in your back yard. All you have to do walk out of apt, or house and you have every thing there with in 50 feet of your door.Yes really what ever you you want to buy is on Berger strasse, you can go left or right, some of the best resturant are on Berger Strasse I bet there more eateries jiont on this street then any street in New York City. I do not mean junk food its the real deal here. You want Greek, or Turkish,German, Mexican, Spanish, Middle Eastern cusine, or Russian, Asien,French, Ice cream palors, sport bar pub grub. There are also at least over 50 cafe's on this street, flower shop's, record shop's, you name it its there man I'm telling you. Also they have there annual BERGER STRASSE FEST THATS RUN ABOUT TWO WEEKENDS. This street fest is in September and October, also in August there's a Latin-American fest this is very jumping street in Frankfurt Lucky enough I live maybe three counrty blocck away. But if you are not a walker like me there is there U-BAHN STATION (SUBWAY STATION on this street, you catch the U-4 from Frankfurt main train station. Honest you can spend all day on this street and never see all it will take you at least a year jsut to seee or visit all the shop's and business and every day there is a new shop popping up.so go shopping its worth the visit.

This street dissects a semi-bohemian neighborhood of the city largely populated by teachers, students and members of the gay and lesbian community. The street is lined with bars, restaurants and shops of all kinds. Once a year it hosts a very popular street festival. Worth a stroll and a drink if you have a little downtime in Frankfurt.

I went from the very start of the street to the end. It is such a beautiful street, and I really enjoyed walking down the street. I recommend to start from U-Bahn "Bornheim Mitte" station. Near Hoehenstrasse, there's really nice burger restaurant called Heroes Premium burger, so you'd better try.

Whenever I am in Frankfurt am Main I pay a short visit to Berger Straße as this is a lively street with many bars, cafés and restaurants and I love this mix. In March I was in the "Rink" bar/restaurant to have Schnitzel with Grüne Soße (Schnitzel with the typical green sauce made of a herb mix typical for Frankfurt) and drinks and enjoyed it and the other day I was at a lovely ice cream shop where they sell vegan and glutenfree ice cream in all sorts of flavours and they even let me taste some ice creams. There is always something new to see and to try out on this street and I love it.
There is also a lovely Vietnamese restaurant called Hue just off Berger Straße which I can also recommend.
But there are also clothes shops, newsagents and many other shops you can find there. Definitely worth a visit.
You can go there by U-bahn train and get off at "Merianplatz" and you are right at the start of Berger Straße.

Bergerstrasse is simply the best way to experience why we love Frankfurt- just a short walk from the high rise inner city it is a glorious cosmopolitan experience.
Its lined with enough multi-cultural restaurants to eat your way around the world slowly. Yet at the North end- full of original half timbered buildings- it still has the old German Apfel Wein Kellars.
With amazing clothes stores, much of whom sell locally made goods and pretty gift shops - its a MUST for visitors who have time to savour "real" Frankfurt

Go and check it out if you get a chance! There is a Chinese garden where you can relax after walking the area, or you explore the area and stop in between in one of the multiple coffee shops, wine bars and much more. This street has all kind of cute little and interesting shops for sort of everything. And then you have lots of coffee shops, restaurants and bars, mostly with nice outdoor seating...lovely and very relaxed.
