I was surprised by Frankfurt Botanical Gardens. I visited in mid-February. To begin with, I wasn't sure if it would be open in midwinter. It was open and I was surprised at the number of visitors. Not that it was crowded by any means, but I was not roaming around alone. The outdoor exhibits were for the most part shuttered.... More

It has many greenhouses and features a large diversity of plants, cacti, flowers, water plants, ferns, bamboos, and many more. One can easily spend the day here and just be lost in appreciation of what's on display. Lots of butterflies and bird life too! We'll come back to visit the next time we holiday in Frankfurt again.

Cool green area not far from the city centre. They also do really nice botanical expositions. Worth a visit!

As a botanist I always try to visit the botanical gardens anywhere we visit. To be honest we did not leave ourselves enough time to get the most out of this one, but it was pretty good from what we saw. I particularly liked the attempts to make grassland and prairie- not seen that before. The greenhouses were excellent as... More

Spent a lovely day here with my cousin. Even enjoyed a little mid-visit game of mini-golf. A delightful day. I would certainly visit again.

I'm glad I added Palmengarten to my list of things to check out in Frankfurt AND that we got here. There are so many varying flower and plant beds and greenhouses that one can spend many hours if they choose. Every time I turned a corner, there was something new and beautiful to see. They offer much more than botanicals... More
