Eiserner Steg Bridge, the official name is a iconic bridge which spans across the Main River. Walking along the bridge you can see the city of Frankfurt as well as many tourists too.
Definitely worth to see if you can whilst in Frankfurt. If you in a relationship, why not tie a lock to the bridge, thousands of locks of love already tied to it.

So I've wanted to be at a lovelock bridge and put up a lock just because I wanted to. I know it's supposed to have a couple name but I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity of having my name on a lock on a lock bridge just cos the other name I don't know yet. So I found one in Frankfurt am Main. It is situated on River maine. It's a pedestrian bridge but is also a 'Love Lock Bridge'. I suggest asking for the iron bridge and walking down on the River basement, the walk in itself will be a treat. Oh yeah you're supposed to put the lock and throw the key in the River. It is close to the Frankfurt's Euro sign Garden.

I walked over this bridge with my girlfriend on a day trip to Frankfurt am Main. The iron structure is located not far from the historic city center and allows you to reach the other side of the river that runs through the German city. Passage is allowed only to pedestrians. On the railings are attached many locks that symbolize a love bond. From the centre of the span you can take some striking photographs of Frankfurt.

As you cross from Romer, you get a really good feel for the Frankfurt skyline. The churches to North and South are easy to see and get good pictures of. When walking past all this locks and sensing all that optimism, how can you not smile.

The Iron bridge is a must visit for anyone who visits Frankfurt. It is the oldest bridge in Frankfurt and c onnects Frankfurt to the Sachsenhausen area of Frankfurt. An important piece of Frankfurt history. From the bridge one can get panoramic views of the Frankfurt skyline and also amazing pictures with the Frankfurt skyline in the background. Under the bridge flows the Main river and after crossing the bridge one can enjoy a relaxing time at the river Main shore.

This second oldest famous Eiserner Steg or Iron Bridge connects old town to the district of Sachsenhausen above Main river . It was built in 1868, but was destroyed in World War II. It was rebuilt in 1946 and renovated in 1993. One can get get beautiful view from the bridge. It's very picturesque. The lovers put a lock on the bridge and throw the key in river. All the river cruise start from below the bridge.

Nice bridge connecting the old city with the area of Sachsenhausen. From it you can enjoy the view on the skyscrapers, but also on the Main River sides and on the other side on the new glass tower of the European Central Bank. Lovers' padlocks make it very colourful.

Its an old bridge that was built in 1868 then replaced in 1911 / 1912 and blown up in WW II and rebuilt after 1946 and renovated in 1993, with nice views and many love padlocks on it, Which we assume are removed after a period of time to reduce the weight!. What more can be said? It's a 76 year old bridge renovated 29 years ago. It's a nice bridge with nice views.

I enjoyed walking this historic bridge across the river in central Frankfurt. I had good views of the city and the boats cruising the river. There are walking paths on both sides of the river and I enjoyed strolling along the river to another bridge to cross back.

Can I buy a weekly ticket on RMV ticket machine, is the Weekly ticket apply all of the s-bahn or u-bahn in this city, no matter which stop to get on/off? Thanks to anyone who can explain to me this issue!!
Written January 1, 2020
The bridge is not the Eiffel Tower, so if you're in Hahn Airport, don't even bother. From Frankfurt Airport it's a 10 minute S-Bahn ride, but be sure to buy a day or 5 people day ticket so you can move around and get back easily & cheaply! At the Hauptwache, just walk down towards the river along a long pedestrian street any local will indicate & see the Roemerberg....a block before getting there. The bridge is on the right & the 3 Kings Church will be in front of you.
Enjoy!

Please advise the distance between eiserner steg and nh Frankfurt hotel ?
Written January 7, 2016
From the NH walk down to Konstablerwache square and either get on Tram 12....to the Roemer....see the beautiful square and walk on to the river. The bridge is on your right.
If you prefer walking. .....just walk about 6-7 blocks to the Alte Bruecke (Old Bridge) and turn right to the very next bridge. You can't go wrong!
