This museum is a real "gem" for children and adults who have grown up with Struwwelpeter. There is a very informative introduction about the versatile life of Dr. Heinrich Hoffmann. One can see lots of drawings, Struwwelpeter books translated into lots of languages and also published in German dialects (I found that particularly interesting). At the time of my visit,... More

I read this book every day as a child (scary, i know!) and when I found out about this museum I HAD to go and was not disappointed. I went on new years day after receiving a prompt email reply after inquiring if they would be open. There is 3 floors of everything related to Struwwelpeter, including just about every... More

Walked from the city but unfortunately the museum was closed. My mother also read me this book and I would have loved to see inside! It looked great through the window. Close to the palmengarten though so we spent the afternoon there instead. Next time...

This museum is in a beautiful house. It is suitable for all age groups. If you read everything in detail then you could be there for a few hours. If you did what I did and you just want to look at cool illustrations and items then half an hour is about right. This is a lovely place to go... More

If you haven't read Struwwelpeter, the museum might not mean that much to you but my German mother read it to me when I was young so I was familiar with it. If you plan on going, I would read the book first, there are English editions. The museum also has copies in English and many other languages. Essentially, they... More
