I have been going to the English Theatre for the past 15 years and I must say that the quality of the productions, the variety of the shows (musicals, plays for kids, theatre plays from the UK and the US, etc.), and the seasonal events...More
We had a brilliant time here! I wasn’t sure what to expect, and was absolutely blown away by the quality of the production! We saw Cabaret and the acting, singing, set design and direction was fabulous! The service and atmosphere was also great in the...More
I found the theatre on line when searching for things to do in Frankfurt, thank goodness I did. The actors were brilliant as was there singing. If it is still playing when you are in Frankfurt it’s a must see, well done to all the...More
I go two or three times per year depending upon their program. The theatre's standards are very high, but I don't always like what they do. The theatre suffers from lack of an easily accessible elevator, and there are a lot of stairs to climb.
Decided to squeeze a little bit of culture into my recent visit to Frankfurt. The English Theatre was my choice to do so. I got to see a very enjoyable performance of "The Hound of the Baskervilles", with three actors delivering a funny, tongue-in-cheek version....More
We started going to the English Theatre way back in the old days when it was in the ' old building ' on the Kaiserstr near the main train station, then it moved to it's present 'new' location. Right from the beginning though we've always...More
This theater chooses interesting plays and the performances are consistently excellent. There is really not a bad seat in the house. The front rows of the "cheaper" section on the lower level are still terrific seats. I have also sat in the back row and...More
You want to see good English-speaking theatre in Frankfurt? Head straight for The English Theatre. I have never been disappointed after seeing one of its productions. The acting is up to West End or Broadway standards and the theatre itself is small enough (300 people)...More
I am going to make my third trip to Paris (*sigh*...can"t wait!!) next month. Having already done the touristy things before, I am looking forward to new experiences this time. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about The Improfessionals' shows at The Antipode? I have checked their website and think it is interesting. Is it worth a visit? Can tickets be bought just before the show or do they have to be booked? Any other suggestions for English theatre will be very welcome!

Frankfurt English Theatre (5 Replies)
During my 3 night stay in Frankfurt later this week, I am keen on watching 'Rain Man'. I was wondering if anyone on the forum has done that already and could give me some feedback about it. Worth the time and money?

Not done it yet but the couple of articles I have read seem to indicate that is a good adaptation of the movie. Go for it and if you do, let us know how it was :-).

Do you think that the stall seats are better than the dress circle seats for Chicago ?
